Find Decatur Projected Release Dates

A Decatur County projected release date answers when a sentenced person may leave custody, not when every jail detainee will get out. A pretrial detainee usually has no computed date because bond, court action, a hold, or case disposition controls the release. A state prisoner's record may instead show a maximum release date, tentative parole month, or performance-credit date. Each is conditional. To learn when someone will be released, identify the custody system, read the exact date label, and confirm any later change with the jail, court, Georgia corrections, or the Parole Board.

Decatur Projected Versus Actual Release

A projected date is a calculation or tentative decision. Actual release occurs only after the responsible agency completes review and processing. GDC uses distinct terms: Maximum Release Date is the sentence endpoint then calculated; Tentative Parole Month is a Parole Board target that may change; and PIC Date reflects eligible Performance Incentive Credit.

Scheduled is not actual. Holds, discipline, court orders, parole review, and administrative processing can change the outcome.

A person awaiting trial at Decatur County Jail has no GDC projected date. Check bond and the court docket instead.

Find Decatur Release-Date Records

  1. Determine whether the person is in Decatur County Jail, DCCI, another GDC facility, federal custody, or immigration detention.
  2. For GDC, use the offender search and match the name, GDC ID, birth year, and institution.
  3. Read the date label. Do not substitute TPM, PIC Date, and MRD for one another.
  4. Check the Inmate TPM Lookup for tentative parole information.

The official TPM application is shown below.

Georgia Credit and Decatur Dates

GDC's Performance Incentive Credit program can reduce an eligible offender's length of stay for satisfactory progress in education, vocational or treatment programs, work, and conduct. The policy states that eligible offenders may accumulate up to twelve months, subject to exclusions and parole law. It is not automatic good time for every sentence.

O.C.G.A. 17-10-6.1 governs serious violent felony sentencing and can restrict parole or early-release paths. O.C.G.A. 42-9-45 supplies general parole eligibility rules. Eligibility means review may occur; it does not promise release.

What Changes Decatur Release Dates

FactorPossible effect
PIC eligibility or creditMay move an eligible state date
DisciplineCan affect credit or review
DetainerMay cause transfer to another agency
Court orderCan alter the controlling sentence or hold
Parole voteMay establish, postpone, cancel, or deny parole
Administrative reviewCan correct calculations before release

A detainer is a request or hold from another authority. Leaving one facility under a detainer may be a transfer, not freedom from custody.

Confirm Decatur Actual Release

Use VINELink Inmate Search to register for a custody-change alert. Then confirm with the source that held the person. For DCCI and Bainbridge Substance Abuse Center, GDC records and the Parole Board are central. For Decatur County Jail, use the jail and court.

The Parole Board warns that a TPM is tentative and can be changed or canceled. Life-sentence decisions use grant or deny rather than the same TPM process. A past projected date without a released status should be investigated, not assumed.

Decatur Parole Date Review

The Georgia Board generally reviews ordinary parole files without an inmate appearing at a public hearing. Members vote independently, and three of five must agree. Public Board business meetings are different from an individual's parole consideration.

For DCCI or Bainbridge Substance Abuse Center, compare the TPM application, GDC offender record, and eligibility guidance. The final release date follows later review.

Georgia Release-Date Labels

Maximum Release Date, Tentative Parole Month, and PIC Date answer different questions. MRD is the maximum sentence endpoint as currently calculated. TPM is the month in which the Parole Board tentatively expects release after its review. PIC Date reflects eligible Performance Incentive Credit under GDC policy. A parole eligibility date may only state when consideration can begin.

Copy the field label with the date. Reporting only the number strips away the condition attached to it. Also note the status and facility. A person at DCCI, Bainbridge Substance Abuse Center, another GDC institution, or already on community supervision can have different records even when the same sentence appears in each.

GDC warns users to verify offender-search information through written correspondence. For a certified or consequential court fact, request the sentencing order and any later modification from the clerk. The public search is a starting point, not a substitute for the controlling documents.

Decatur Jail Release Timing

A pretrial Decatur County Jail detainee has no ordinary projected release date. Release depends on bond, dismissal, a court order, completion of local processing, or transfer. Even after bond is approved, physical release can occur later because staff must verify the order, resolve holds, complete records, and return property or funds.

A county-sentenced person may have a calculable end date, but the research does not establish a single public online field or universal local good-time formula. Ask the jail records unit and obtain the sentencing order. Do not import the GDC PIC rules into a county-jail calculation without an official source saying they apply.

The Decatur County Clerk processes sentencing packages and post-conviction material. Ask for the sentence, any amended order, and entries affecting bond or custody. The jail can confirm actual departure; the court explains the legal basis.

Decatur Tentative Parole Months

The Parole Board reviews eligible cases and can set a TPM, deny parole, or later change tentative action. A TPM is not a promise. Before release, the Board may consider conduct, new information, a parole plan, detainers, and statutory limits. For life-sentence cases, the outcome is grant or deny rather than the same non-life TPM pattern.

Ordinary parole consideration generally occurs through file review, not a public individual hearing. Board members vote independently, and three of five must agree. Public monthly meeting notices concern Board business and should not be read as a calendar for a named Decatur County prisoner.

Eligibility often begins after one-third of a parole-eligible sentence under the general Georgia framework, but the offense and sentence can impose different limits. Serious violent felony and no-parole categories require direct review of the statute, sentence, and Board guidance.

Verify Decatur Date Calculations

For GDC, begin with the offender search and TPM tool, then request verification if the date must be documented. GDC Inmate Records and Information accepts written correspondence at P.O. Box 1529, Forsyth, GA 31029. The GDC open-records portal is another channel and may charge ten cents per non-medical copy plus qualifying search and redaction labor.

For Decatur County Jail, contact the jail at 229-248-3050. For a sentence or court order, call the clerk at 229-248-3025. Give the person's full legal name, date of birth, booking or GDC number, sentencing court, and case number. Ask which date field is official and whether a hold or later order affects it.

Georgia VINE can notify of an eventual custody change. It should not be used to calculate the date in advance. After an alert, compare the agency's released status and the court or corrections record.

Decatur Facility Date Sources

Decatur County Jail, DCCI, and Bainbridge Substance Abuse Center do not share one release-date record. The county jail handles local pretrial and county custody. DCCI houses state and county offenders in a county correctional institution. Bainbridge Substance Abuse Center is a GDC residential treatment facility. Identify the facility and sentence before selecting a date source.

For the jail, the sheriff and clerk are primary. For a GDC-tracked DCCI prisoner or Bainbridge resident, use GDC offender records, TPM information, the sentencing court, and DCS if the person moves to supervision. A DCCI county offender may still need local court records. The facility name alone does not settle which system controls the date.

Federal and immigration custody remain separate. BOP results can show a past federal release date, while ICE ODLS focuses on immigration detention. Neither establishes a Georgia projected date. If a local booking was only a hold for another authority, follow the receiving system.

Record Decatur Date Fields

When comparing sources, create a simple field inventory: full name, GDC or booking number, facility, sentence court, status, date label, date value, source, and time checked. Add any detainer or supervision notation exactly as written. This prevents an old TPM from being reported as a final date or an MRD from being confused with an earlier parole release.

If a date changes, keep both records and ask which event caused the revision. GDC credit, discipline, a court amendment, a detainer, parole review, or a corrected calculation can each matter. The answer should come from the responsible office, not from arithmetic applied to a sentence summary.

Note: A date without its field label, custody status, facility, source, and time checked cannot reliably distinguish a tentative milestone from an actual Decatur County release event. Keep the sentence and court identifiers with the date so GDC or the clerk can trace the controlling record and explain any later revision.

Decatur Parole Plans and Holds

A parole plan can affect whether a tentative date becomes actual release. The Board may review residence and supervision arrangements, and a detainer from another authority can change the destination. A valid detainer may result in transfer at the end of Georgia custody rather than release to the community. Check the receiving agency before describing the person as free from custody.

Parole denial, postponed consideration, new sentence information, or a change in eligibility can also alter the timeline. The public TPM tool gives tentative information when available, while the Parole Board process page explains that final action occurs later. DCS handles field supervision after release but does not replace the Board's release decision.

For a Decatur County court hold, obtain the docket and controlling order. For immigration custody, use ICE ODLS. For a federal sentence, use BOP and federal court records. Keeping these systems separate prevents a Georgia projected date from being reported as the end of all custody.

Confirm the final Decatur County release only after the responsible agency updates custody.
